The Watch Ashore prayer

O God who art present to thy faithful people in every place, mercifully hear our prayers for those whom we love, but who are parted from us by their calling to sail the seas.   Watch over them we beseech Thee and protect them in anxiety, danger and temptation.  Guide and protect them in all their undertakings.

And for ourselves who wait and watch ashore, grant Thy peace which passes all understanding.   Increase in us daily, that holy friendship and bind us ever more closely to one another in our common love of Thee .
